Harry Potter house quiz · fan-made, just for fun

Harry Potter house quiz: where would the Sorting Hat put you?

Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff or Slytherin? A short story in three chapters. On every page you pick what you would actually do, out of four things people do; each choice counts one for a house. At the end you get your house, a letter written from the choices you made, and where all eighteen choices went.

An independent, fan-made story game inspired by the Harry Potter books. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the rights holders of the books or films, and it is not a personality test: the result explains the choices you made in this story, nothing more.

Your house with its crest, a letter that quotes the choices behind it, and four tracks showing where the eighteen choices went.

What you get

  • Your house, its crest and a letter written from your choices
  • Where all eighteen choices went, house by house
  • A shareable card in English or Chinese, private until you turn it on
  • The full result for free, no account needed
How it is scored

Each of the eighteen questions offers four things to do, one per house. Your house is the one with most choices. A tie is settled by your answers to the last questions of the story, and the page says which one decided it. Houses within one choice of yours are named as close.

No weights, no timing, no comparison with other people. Every choice counts one for a house, and the page shows where all eighteen went.

Questions people ask

Is this the official Sorting Hat?

No. It is an independent, fan-made story game inspired by the Harry Potter books, with its own questions and its own way of counting. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the rights holders of the books or films.

Why did I get a house I did not expect?

The house follows the eighteen choices you made, not the one you had in mind. The page lists the choices behind it and how close the other houses were.

Can I be sorted again?

Yes, as often as you like. Each sitting stands on its own; the letter only explains the choices you made that time.

Do I need an account?

No. The full result shows right away; a free account keeps it.
