Hogwarts house
Ravenclaw
An eagle, in blue and bronze
Where others see a door, you still want to know why it was locked.
Ravenclaw is the house of people who want to understand. In this story it gathers the choices where you looked first, asked why, tested an idea or checked it against what you knew before acting.
Eighteen choices, about five minutes, free, no account.
- Curiosity
- Insight
- Originality
You may feel at home here if…
- an unanswered question bothers you more than an unfinished task
- you read the instructions, and then the footnotes
- you would rather be shown you are wrong than be told you are right
- you keep a list of things to look up later, and you do look them up
Day to day
On an ordinary day this is the person who asks the question that turns the conversation around, notices the detail that does not fit, and has a slightly odd explanation that turns out to be right.
- Asks why
- Connects the clues
- Tests the idea
What people get wrong
Ravenclaw is often taken to mean cleverer, or better at school. The house is about wanting to know, not about marks. Curious people get things wrong all the time; they just find out sooner.
With the other houses
A Ravenclaw brings clarity. What helps in return is a Gryffindor's push to try it once, a Hufflepuff's reminder that the answer has to work for people, and a Slytherin's sense of which question matters most right now.
Now and then, trying once helps more than analysing further.

As the Harry Potter books tell it; these are facts of the story world, not part of the quiz.
A fan-made story game: a house here describes the choices you make in one short story, not who you are for good. Take it again another night and the hat may see something else.
