Hogwarts house
Hufflepuff
A badger, in yellow and black
With you around, the people beside you trust they will not be left behind.
Hufflepuff is the house of people who look after the group. In this story it gathers the choices where you kept a promise, shared the work, made things fair, or stayed so that nobody was left on their own.
Eighteen choices, about five minutes, free, no account.
- Loyalty
- Fairness
- Patience
You may feel at home here if…
- you notice who has not spoken yet
- a promise you made keeps mattering after it stops being convenient
- you would rather finish together than finish first
- people tend to tell you things, because you remember them
Day to day
On an ordinary day this is the person who brings the extra chair, splits the task so that it is fair, and is still there at the end when the tidying up is being done. Groups with a Hufflepuff in them tend to last.
- Keeps promises
- Makes it fair
- Stays until it is done
What people get wrong
Hufflepuff is sometimes treated as the house for people with nothing special about them. Reliability is the special thing, and it is harder to find than talent. Nor does it mean giving in: the Hufflepuff choice is often the one that insists on fairness when that is unpopular.
With the other houses
A Hufflepuff brings trust. What helps in return is a Gryffindor who says the hard thing for them now and then, a Ravenclaw who explains the reasoning, and a Slytherin who makes sure their effort is noticed.
While you look after others, remember to say what you need as well.

As the Harry Potter books tell it; these are facts of the story world, not part of the quiz.
A fan-made story game: a house here describes the choices you make in one short story, not who you are for good. Take it again another night and the hat may see something else.
